ABOUT

I am a graphic designer with over 25 years experience. Graphic design, at its core, is simply this: a visual representation of complex information. I am a problem-solver. I excel in pairing meaning to content by thinking conceptually, while keeping in mind that design should serve the content, not the other way around.  

 

From 1992 to 2003, I was a full-time communication arts professional. In September 2003, I returned to Virginia Commonwealth University to complete my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Communication Arts and Design, maintaining a 4.0 grade point average. This unique opportunity allowed me to study, for the second time, under core faculty who literally wrote the textbooks on graphic design, with my own professional and life experience contributing to my work. In 2004, I enrolled in a graduate-level acupuncture program at Maryland University of Integrative Health, a preeminent institution in holistic wellness located in Laurel, Maryland, and received a Master of Acupuncture degree in 2007. During this time, I continued to work as a graphic design professional.
